Maine resident, Ray LaMontagne woke at 4AM to his alarm clock blaring Stephen Stills's "Treetop Flyer."
It moved him so much, He skipped work that day. He would of normally gone off to do a 12 hour shift in a shoe factory. He sold his VW bus and bought a quality guitar. Quit his job and and submerged himself in playing and writing music. It was a craft he soon realized he had a natural gift for but had never explored. After a lengthy period of discovery, LaMontagne emerged in 2004 with an album of songs. The most popular was the album's title track, "Trouble." He's since released seven albums and has a regular touring schedule. This story has been part of LaMontagne's "legend" for a while. It's nice to be reminded that sometimes it's possible to find success. The most important part is the passion.
Here's a detailed story on LaMontagne from a 2006 Washington Post article.

This song makes me swoon. His voice is as soulful as Stephen Stills. LOVE!
