Cindy Joseph - Changing The Look And Style Of The Aging Model.
by Mike Kravinsky

Cindy Joseph, never considered modeling, but at the age of 49, she was approached by a casting agent, as she walked down a street in New York. They wanted her to model for a Dolce and Gabbana ad. In just 10 years, Joseph has become one of the most recognized "mature" models.

Her good fortune started when she decided to stop coloring her hair. Now, Joseph and her distinctive gray hair is part of a trend to market to the 50 plus crowd. Instead of trying to aspire to a youthful appearance, there's a movement in advertising to show active vibrant seniors. Joseph has also used her fame to launch a line of cosmetics aimed at the boomer crowd, appropriately named "Boom."

This makes me wonder about all those women and men who wanted to do some modeling when they were younger. Those people who now are in their 40's, 50's and 60's. Instead of thinking  they're "too old" to pursue a modeling career, there seems to be a market for models who are in their prime.

In this video, Joseph tells her story and says that people should celebrate their age.
