Who says Nextnik isn't a powerhouse digital publication. I just interviewed my first movie star! Who? Charlyne Yi, That's who! Who's that?  She will be the comedian / actress everyone will be talking about and quoting in 2009.  So I understand from The Daily Beast. I found an article there on the up and coming stars of 2009. They all look the same to me.  Classic Hollywood style, except for one. Charlyne Yi, and I got an interview with her!  Her first appearance was in the film Knocked Up. She played the stoner that hung out with the guys. Here's a clip.

She and boyfriend Michael Cera (Juno, Superbad, Arrested Development ) are at Sundance and just screened her film "Paper Heart". I have no idea what the film looks like, I'm in Washington, D.C., the film is at Sundance. But the reviewers that I respect really like it. (Promotion people, please send me a screener copy, thanks) The road film is a mockumentary about finding out what love is. Problem is Yi doesn't believe that true or fairy tale love exists. Yi and director Nicolas Jasenovic (played by Jake Johnson) go in search of couples, old and young who say they're in love. In the process, she meets Cera and the magic happens, or so I guess.
