A Thought On The Sale of Newsweek
by Liza Kravinsky

The Washington Post is trying to sell Newsweek magazine due to weak
profits. The journalism industry is the latest victim of free content
on the internet. How do I feel about this? Vindicated.

I was one of those musicians in the 1990's who silently watched my

family and friends steal music via Napster. The theft was so
ubiquitous, it seemed only the musicians and music industry cared about
ethics. I'm sure some of these journalists were Napster clients too.
As were the filmmakers who felt piracy's wrath in the 2000's.

Similarly, more industries are bound to follow suit, and more and more

people will feel the effect on their incomes. All I have to say is -
now you know how I feel.
