The Nextnik TV Show

In Episode 4 of The Nextnik, Larry is getting more comfortable with his search. He tries a Yoga class that Ann recommends. It really works for him! He also checks out a winery. Maybe fine wines is what he'll do.

In Episode 3 of The Nextnik, Larry is feeling great about his tambourine performance the other night with Mark's band. More importantly, that night he met all sorts of "makers." Larry is charging ahead at his chance for reinvention. The problem is, his girlfriend Emma doesn't understand his need to start over from scratch. Why is he not using that same energy in a job search at what he's done his whole career; something he's always been successful at. Even though Emma feels Larry's professional exploration is wasting valuable time, Larry is determined to find what's next.

After 25 years in the same job, Larry is abruptly fired. He decides to reach out to his old friend Mark, who left the corporate world years ago to make furniture. Mark has an interesting idea to help loosen up his old buddy.

"The Nextnik" is the story of Larry Zimmerman. Larry is an upper middle management type, who is abruptly fired. He never saw it coming. Realizing that he'll never get another job in the same field with the same money, Larry decides to start over and try something new. But what? We follow Larry in his professional and personal reinvention.

No need to post if you don't want. Larry is funny. I love the wine tasting portion of this. BUT I must say I noticed a big snafoo. He just left his friends eating salad while he went to a winery? Ok well it was dark outside(windows) and showed him driving in the daytime. That made no sense. Looking forward to the next one. Good Luck

Emma(his wife) just looks stiff in every scene. So far it's interesting

I am a 55 yr old nextnik, too, and currently spending all my time brainstorming ideas to reinvent myself! Really enjoying the webisodes, still laughing at Larry's minor disasters. I'm spreading the word to two other 55 year old friends in the same boat and I know they will enjoy Larry's story. Well done!

I can so relate to this! I started over at 57 and then again at 60! It is a long and bumpy road, but it leads to endless possibilities.

I'm a writer from SoCal now living in Virginia, so I was happy to see that The Nextnik is set in Va. This is a great show - unlike anything else anywhere. The actors are very believable and the writing is fresh. I think you've opened up a whole new niche with this show, and I can't wait for ep 3! I've posted it on my fb and twitter pages.

Boy do I know the feeling. The fear that others think you are to old and you know your not...and that desperate need to be 'in the game' For me I have been 'responsible' for so long I don't know what makes me happy or where my Bliss is-- I haven't seen it for so long I can't remember where I put it, and don't know how to make another !! pretty sad for an artist, or a was an artist
